Galerie Thomas Zander is devoted to acting as primary gallery for artists working in photography and considering the medium within a larger context of contemporary art. At Photo London Digital 2020 the gallery presents a curated selection of vintage and recent conceptual and documentary style photographic works highlighting a spectrum of aesthetic strategies and conceptual approaches.

Photography inherently implies a point of view. It is at the core of the photographic endeavour to look through somebody else’s eyes, which gives them social and political power beyond the realm of aesthetics. The works reflect on and draw attention to the implications of the medium. Especially today where photography seems virtually ubiquitous and naturalised in visual culture, this critical awareness and agency appears more relevant than ever.
